LOCATION:: Ellis County, Texas
DATE OF BIRTH:: The first day of Spring (20th of March) in the same year (& barely a month after) NASCAR ran its 1st sanctioned race on the Daytona Beach road / beach course.
OCCUPATION:: Self-employed dba BENCO Enterprises since 1982
YEARS IN LIMITED MODIFIED:: Everhart was the 1st driver / owner of a Limited Modified in the DFW area. This was shortly before the very 1st SIMS season started in 2002. He finished 6th overall (& 3rd @ 85 Speedway) in the inaugural year of that class in 2002. In his 2nd year in a Lmtd. Mod., Everhart finished 3rd overall (out of 328 drivers) in 2003, & was the SIMS Lmtd. Mod. track champion at 85 Speedway. In 2004 he was 9th in SIMS national points (out of almost 500 members), &, although not running for track points at any one track, wound up in the top 10 at Grand Prairie Speedway (3rd) as well as at 85 Speedway. In 2005 Bennie was once again 9th in SIMS national points, & in the top 10 at Thunderbird Speedway as well as GPS. 2006 found him back in the top 5 with a 2nd place finish at Thunderbird & GPS, & a 3rd in SIMS national points. He is now the only driver who has been in the top 10 in SIMS national points every single year of the sanction.
CHASSIS BRAND &/OR BUILDER:: In 2005 Everhart started the year in the car he built for & raced in 2004, but soon switched to his 2005 HOT Chassis, which he is still racing as of 2007. :: In 2004, he raced in a new Limited Modified that he built over the winter in his shop in Ellis County, Texas (now freshly reskinned & ready to race again in 2007). :: The 2003 Lmtd. was a BRC -- Benco Racing Chassis (sold in February 2005). :: The Limited from 2002 was a UFO (sold in June 2003).
ENGINE BRAND & BUILDER:: Chevrolet
YEARS RACING/WHAT OTHER CLASSES:: Everhart didn't pick up the dirt-track habit until shortly before his 50th birthday in 1998. After driving a few races in various classes, he found he really enjoyed competing in what is variously known as Mini-Modified / Mini-Stock / et al. Everhart began racing in the SIMS Limited Modified class in 2002 -- which was when he & Roger Archer became the owners of the first two Lmtd. Mods. in the North Texas area. 2002 was also Everhart's last year of competing full-time in his Mustangs & Pintos.
OTHER PASTIMES:: In prior years (in his other life, B.C. -- before car-racing), Everhart enjoyed piloting his own Cessna 150 (& later his V-tail Bonanza); elk-hunting in Colorado (via horseback); trailrides (finally sold our horses in Summer of 2004); motorcycle touring; black-powder hunting; bow-and-arrow hunting; etc.
SHOW VICTORIES:: Everhart won the SIMS Limited Modified race at the Halloween Showdown at Texas D.I.R.T. on the 29th of October in 2005. :: On 13th July 2003, won the SIMS Summer Jubilee at Dundee Motor Speedway. :: Also won several shows in Mini-Stock / Mini-Modified, including the 2002 Ardmore Winter Nationals.
A-MAIN VICTORIES:: One in his BRC Limited Modified in 2004, & one in 2005; 3 in his HOT Chassis in 2005, 5 in 2006 & 2 in 2007 (& lots of top 5's); 7 in his BRC Limited Modified in 2003, & one in his UFO; 5 in his SIMS Limited Modified (UFO) in 2002, & more than 60 in Mini-Stock / Mini-Modified between 1999 & 2002.
HEAT RACE VICTORIES:: Don't keep track of these but there's been a bunch!

In 2004 Benco Racing competed at various SIMS sanctioned tracks, but frequent haunts were GPS & 85 Speedway. In 2003 Benco Racing raced at several SIMS tracks -- Many Motor Speedway, Millican / Dundee Motor Speedway, Super Bowl Speedway, et al -- but competed most frequently at Heart O' Texas Speedway (Waco) & 85 Speedway (Ennis).

FAMILY MEMBERS WHO RACE(D):: Brother, Red Everhart, has raced on asphalt & dirt tracks, & been a Tech Man, in Texas & Kansas for about 20 years; nephew, Josh Everhart, is currently competing in a modified on Kansas tracks (and formerly won quite frequently in a factory stock).
